The city of Pula in Croatia is a popular summer destination for tourists from all over Europe. The natural beauty of the area draws visitors to see the famous Roman Palace and Temple of Augustus. Pula is a town of about 25,000 people that was once the capital of the Roman province of Dalmatia. Even though it's no longer the regional capital, Pula remains the most prominent city in the region. The most notable attraction in Pula is undoubtedly the Roman Palace and Temple of Augustus. Construction on this began in 27 BC and was completed by 19 BC. The palace complex covers an area of 10,000 square meters and contains over 150 rooms. Outside of the palace, there's also a temple dedicated to Venus with two Corinthian columns that stand 18 meters tall. Both structures are decorated with marble, granite, and other materials from all over ancient Italy and Greece.

Aside from the Roman Palace and Temple of Augustus, there are also other notable attractions in Pula. One such attraction is the amphitheater in the center of the town, which was used for shows for the local populace; Old Town Square; and Town Hall Square.

As previously mentioned, Pula is a year-round destination that's especially popular in the summer months due to its natural attractions. The City of Pula has many historical and educational associations, as it was once a major naval base for the Republic of Venice.
