Location
Surroundings
Pula - the largest city in Istria, located near the tip of the peninsula. Since Roman times, Pula was an administrative centre of the region. Pula is the most mysterious and unusual city in Croatia. This is because, above all, of its rich history, which strongly influenced the architecture, culture and tradition. Arena amphitheatre, built during the reign of Vespasian - one of the biggest coliseums, preserved to this day. Today, there are annual festivals, and the image of the amphitheatre decorates more than half of postcards and tourist catalogues of Croatia. There are more points of interest from the Roman period which are preserving Pula: a forum where now are the musical groups, Triumphal Arch of Sergius, which was later incorporated into the city gate, the temple of Augustus
